College and Career Explorations Program

 

At Mizrachi, we believe in creating a bridge between the learning that takes place within our walls and the lives our students will lead outside of our walls. When carefully designed experiences are framed by preparation and reflection, students can learn much about themselves, their interests and the world outside of school. 

Our 3-week College and Career Explorations Program takes place at the end of the second semester of junior year, and allows students to dive into the college admissions process and explore different career areas.  

During Week 1 of this Program, students begin developing their college list; writing their college essay; learning valuable interviewing skills; and hearing from various admissions professionals to learn about campus life. 

Week 2 and 3 are devoted to experiencing a particular career or career field “first-hand.”  Students work in the field with a professional mentor to gain experience and insight into an area of interest. Simultaneously, students participate in seminars focused on career readiness and Judaism in the workplace.

Due to Covid restrictions, students were unable to intern in the workplace during Spring 2020 and 2021.  However, it is our intention to reintroduce an in-person internship experience in the Spring of 2022.
