College and Career Explorations Program
At Fuchs Mizrachi, we are committed to bridging the gap between the academic experience inside our classrooms and the real-world opportunities our students will encounter beyond graduation. We believe that when students engage in carefully designed experiences framed by thoughtful preparation and reflection, they gain valuable insights into themselves, their passions, and the world around them.
Our College and Career Explorations Program, which takes place throughout the junior year, is designed to support students in navigating the college application process while also providing them with hands-on, real-world experience through internships in various fields of interest. This program allows juniors to engage with both their academic goals and career aspirations simultaneously.
Starting in junior year, students engage in meaningful discussions with their Growth Coaches to explore their strengths, career interests, and personal values. Monthly class meetings are held to review key aspects of the college application process, such as letters of recommendation and personal statement essays, while also encouraging students to begin thinking critically about their future beyond Mizrachi. Students will also have the opportunity to take career assessments to help them uncover potential career paths.
In addition to group discussions, students participate in one-on-one meetings to further refine their college lists, explore internship opportunities, and consider how they want to shape their post-high school lives. These conversations will continue throughout high school. Our goal is to have students think more deeply about who they want to be and how they want to contribute in a meaningful way after high school.
At the end of junior year, students complete an internship, working alongside professionals who act as mentors, providing them with invaluable insight and hands-on experience in their chosen field. From theater and real estate to healthcare, business, and veterinary medicine, our students have had the opportunity to explore diverse areas of interest. Many students describe their internships as one of the most rewarding aspects of their high school journey. At Fuchs Mizrachi School, we empower our students to think critically about their futures, helping them develop the skills and insights necessary to contribute meaningfully to the world after graduation.
We are grateful to the organizations and professionals who welcome our students for these impactful experiences. Over the last few years, Mizrachi juniors have interned, shadowed, and volunteered at the following locations:
