High School Summer Updates
Dear Stark High School Parents,
I hope this finds you well and that you are and your children are enjoying the summer. While school may have been far from the minds of your children, the leadership team of the Stark High School has been hard at work ensuring that we start the school year on a strong note. We are extremely excited about the upcoming year. Our new teachers and administrators are top-notch and will make our already strong school community even stronger!
Please note the following reminders:
- Freshman Orientation
There will be orientation on Friday, August 22nd for all 9th graders at 1:00 pm. They will have an opportunity to meet those new to Mizrachi, set up their lockers, and get acculturated to the Stark High School. The program will end at 2:00 pm for returning Mizrachi students. Students who are new to Mizrachi will remain until 2:30 for further orientation, to ensure their comfort as the year begins.
- School Supplies
There is no list of school supplies for high school students. Our expectation is that by now, each student has a sense of what note-taking method works best, and how he/she can best keep all of their materials. On the first day of school, teachers will let the students know if there are any specific supplies they will need for that class, though that is not common.
- 1st Day of School
On the first day of school, Monday, August 25th, the students will have an abridged schedule. They will go to each of their classes for 12 minutes, in order for the teachers to introduce themselves and their courses. Following that, there will be an opening program for all students, with the day concluding at approximately 2:30. (Students who need to wait until 3:30 for the bus can do so and will be supervised.)
