Welcome to the Website of the Fuchs Mizrachi School Mathematics Department.  There are currently three Fuch's Mizrachi staff members teaching upper school mathematics courses.  These teachers are dedicated to the students to foster a love of mathematics, while teaching the skills necessary to attain excellence in the field of mathematics.

The Fuchs Mizrachi School Mathematics Curriculum incorporates the Ohio Department of Education's Academic Content Standards for Mathematics.  It also follows the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Principles and Standards for School Mathematics.  The State Board of Education of Ohio adopted the current K-12 Mathematics Curriculum and Assessment in December 2001.   In the State of Ohio's Curriculum there are six standards that have been divided into two general areas.  These include:

Content Standards:

  • Number, Number Sense and Operations

  • Measurement

  • Geometry and Spatial Sense

  • Patterns, Functions and Algebra

  • Data Analysis and Probability

Process Standards:

  • Mathematical Processes

The Fuchs Mizrachi School Mathematics Curriculum incorporates these state and national mathematics standards. The mathematics program is designed to meet the needs of our students by teaching the skills and concepts for problem solving as well as fostering the logical thought process for analyzing complex everyday problems.  We strive to create a dual mathematics curriculum that will meet the needs of our advanced mathematics students while allowing those less gifted in mathematics the opportunity to receive an excellent background in the fundamental courses to begin calculus in college.
