Mathematics Classroom Policy

  • Always have your textbook covered and please never write in your  textbook.

  • Have a separate 1 inch three-ring binder for your notes, class policy sheet, assignment sheets and a three-ring folder for handouts, worksheets, quizzes and tests.  (THESE MUST BE SAVED!!)

  • Bring your notebook, writing utensil and textbook to class every day.

  • Your notes may be taken in either ink or pencil.  Label each new topic with the page number, date, chapter and section.  Neatness is important because your notebook is your studying tool.  You are responsible for all notes missed due to absence.  These notebooks will be collected and counted as a major test each semester.

  • All announced quizzes and tests must show all work or you will receive a zero.

  • If you miss a class, you are responsible for the assignment, so call another member of the class to find out what you have missed, read the appropriate textbook pages and do as much of the assignment as you can.  As soon as you return to school, obtain the missing notes from another classmate and then if you need some individual help, please see me to set up an appointment.

  • If you miss a test due to absence, it is your responsibility to make up this test.  I will not contact you!!  If the test is not made up within one week of the absence, you will receive a zero.

  • Assignments, notebooks, quizzes, tests, extra credit, class participation and behavior determine your semester grade.

  • Gum chewing, eating, drinking and profanity are not permitted in the classroom.

  • Appropriate behavior, punctuality for coming to class, having completed homework, checking answers in the back of the textbook and listing the problems that you need to see on the board on the right top of the homework sheet before entering the classroom is always expected.

  • Please see me, if you need additional help.  I am more than willing to schedule a time that is mutually convenient.

  • If you try, you can succeed!!  I am looking forward to a challenging, interesting and productive year for all of us.  Please call me at home if you have any questions or concerns prior to 9:00pm.

HAVE A GREAT YEAR!!!
