Rabban Gamliel was in aveilut (mourning) for his wife.  On the first day of his aveilut, he took a bath! 

His students said to him, "Rabbi, didn't we learn that a mourner is not allowed to wash?"

Rabban Gamliel answered, "I am not like other people.  I am sensitive and delicate."
