When
we make Kiddush (Shabbat or Yom Tov night), Beit Shammai says to FIRST make the
b'racha on the day (Mekadesh Et haShabbat) and THEN to make the
b'racha on the wine.
Beit
Hillel says to FIRST make the b'racha on the wine, and THEN to make it on
the day.
