Chapter 7, Mishna 1

Now we're going to start learning about Birkat haMazon.

Before we can understand what is going on in this Mishna, we need to first discuss some laws that apply to food grown in Eretz Yisrael.

Now on to the Mishna...

When three men eat together, they are obligated to have a zimun.

People who have eaten:

	damai,
	ma'aser that they gave terumah from even though the first teruma wasn't given before the Levi got it,
	ma'aser sheni or hekdesh that's been bought back

and a waiter who eats more than an olive size of bread are all included in the zimun.

People who have eaten

	tevel,
	ma'aser that they didn't give terumah from,
	ma'aser sheni or hekdesh that hasn't been bought back

	a waiter who eats less than an olive size of bread
	non-Jews

are not included in the zimun.
