It's important for you to remember that we
mention Yetziat Mitzrayim- our being freed from Egypt at night. We
do this in the third paragraph of Shema. That's why we have to say this
paragraph at night...even though most of the paragraph is about tzitzit (which
is a mitzvah during the day).
