Dear Parents,
As we finalize our plans for next year and begin our move to our new facility in the next months, please look forward to regular updates of important information from our school.
I am excited to share that for the coming year, Rabbi Kislowicz will be expanding his duties to include the new role of Educational Director for grades 1-12. As many of you know, the school’s board is in the midst of preparing a new strategic plan for the coming years. This plan will touch on numerous areas of school life. Rabbi Kislowicz will take responsibility for implementing the educational component that grows out of the final board-approved plan. As such, his responsibilities will focus on enhancing our academic program with a focus on collaborative faculty work towards school improvement, teacher supervision and professional development for teachers in grades 1-12. Over the coming year, Rabbi Kislowicz will also work with a small committee of lay leaders and professionals to map out a detailed plan for sustained school improvement using best practices to be assessed by reliable metrics and continued data collection and analysis.
As Rabbi Kislowicz will be assuming these additional responsibilities, we are also pleased to announce that Mrs. Belz will be assuming the position of Assistant Head of Lower School, reporting to Rabbi Kislowicz. For the last two years Mrs. Belz has served as the 1st-4th grade coordinator, in addition to teaching half-time. Next year Mrs. Belz will continue to teach half-time and her administrative role will be expanded to include work with the 5th and 6th grade. This will insure that as Rabbi Kislowicz’s role expands the needs of all of our lower school children will continue to be met. As someone who always goes above and beyond, Mrs. Belz has actually been doing much of this work for some time and her new title appropriately recognizes the work she has already been doing and the excellence she will continue to provide for our children.
Sincerely,
Rabbi Pinchos Hecht
Head of School
